Israel’s first official delegation of business leaders travelled to the United Arab Emirates this week, according to Israel’s Export Institute.

The delegation was invited by the president and chairman of the UAE Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

The organizations that are participating in the delegation estimate that the volume of trade between Israel and the UAE could reach billions dollars.

Agricultural growers, disenchanted with the different administrations’ failure to provide the water they need, are pinning their hopes on the Aguas del Almanzora desalination plant.

Plans will be made public next week by the company’s vice-president, Fernando Rubio, Spanish media sources revealed.

Ironically, the new plant will be located near the Villaricos plant in Cuevas del Almanzora, which was flooded in 2012 and has not been used since.

The project was inaugurated through video conference as part of a government program based on which, every week a major project will be inaugurated across the country.

Some 163 trillion rials (about $3.88 billion) has been invested in the mentioned project which is being implemented by the Energy Ministry in collaboration with the Industry, Mining, and Trade Ministry.

This project is aimed at transmitting Persian Gulf water to Hormozgan and Kerman provinces after being desalinated in a modern desalination plant.
