State Grid Jiangsu Electric Power Co sent two engineers to Malaysia to support the construction of a seawater desalination plant in late August. The facility, expected to be operational by mid-September, will produce up to 500 tons of fresh water daily, which can meet the demand of around 3,000 residents. (Source)

Water treatment player VA Tech WABAG has secured an order from Saudi Water Authority worth USD 317 million (Rs 2,700 crore) for setting up a Mega Sea Water Desalination plant in Saudi Arabia, the company said on Friday. (Source)
ERM has launched offshore trials to test critical elements of its Dolphyn Hydrogen process. “Following six years of development, the trials are being conducted in a floating marine environment in Pembroke Port, South Wales,” said the sustainability consultancy. The Dolphyn Hydrogen process combines electrolysis, desalination, and hydrogen production on a floating wind platform. The system transports the hydrogen to shore via pipeline. The BMC had appointed IDE Water Technologies Ltd, an Israeli company, in February 2021 to prepare a detailed project report for a desalination project at Manori. The project is supposed to add 200 MLD of water to the current daily supply of 3,850 MLD, and the capacity of the plant can be later doubled.
