DEWA completes 96.50% of SWRO water desalination plant in Jebel Ali – Dubai

The Complex is one of the key pillars for supplying Dubai with electricity and water services, adhering to the highest standards of availability, reliability, and quality. DEWA had awarded the implementation of the AED897 million plant, with a production capacity of 40 million Imperial Gallons per Day (MIGD) of desalinated water, to a consortium led by Spain’s Acciona Agua and Belhasa Six Construct (BeSIX).

ACWA Power submits lowest tariff for major Dubai desalination plant – Dubai

Dubai: Dewa develops new model for fog monitoring, forecasting – UAE

The advanced model will also optimise energy production of the gas turbines at the Jebel Ali Power Plant and Water Desalination Complex, the largest single-site natural gas power generation facility in the world at a capacity of 9,547 MW.

„The innovative model for fog monitoring and forecasting will enhance energy productions operations. It will be integrated within Dewa’s power planning and operations. This supports the Dubai Clean Energy Strategy 2050 and the Dubai Net Zero Carbon Emissions Strategy 2050 to provide 100 per cent of Dubai’s total power production capacity from clean energy sources by 2050.“

Dubai gets Guinness World Record for largest single-site water desalination facility – UAE

Dubai: Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has marked another breakthrough by achieving the Guinness World Records title for the second time for owning and managing the Largest Single-Site Water Desalination Facility in the World with production capacity of 490 million Imperial Gallons of water per Day, which is equivalent to 2,227,587 Cubic Metres per Day.

This is the second world record for Jebel Ali Power Generation and Water Production Complex. In 2021, the Complex was confirmed by Guinness World Records as the Largest Single-site Natural Gas Power Generation Facility in the World. The Complex has a power generation capacity of 9,547MW.

DEWA partners with Desolenator to build desalination system based on solar thermal energy – Dubai

As per the agreement, a pilot water desalination plant has been installed at the Jebel Ali Power Plant and Desalination Complex, with a production capacity of minimum 1,000 litres of potable water per day. The collaboration is part of DEWA’s participation in the Dubai Future Accelerators (DFA) programme, one of the initiatives under Dubai Future Foundation. DFA is the largest accelerator programme in the world.
