Saudi Water Partnership Company (SWPC), the principal off-taker for water and wastewater projects in Saudi Arabia, has named the consortium of ACWA Power, Haji Abdullah Alireza & Co (HAACO) and Al Moayyed Contracting Group (AMCG) as the preferred bidder for its Rabigh 4 Independent Water Plant (IWP) project.
The project, located in Rabigh, 180 kilometres northwest of Makkah, on the Red Sea coast, involves the construction and operation of a 600,000 cubic metres per day (m3/day) desalination project and storage tanks with a total capacity of 1,200,000 m3 as well as extension and connection to the existing electricity transmission substation.
