According to L’Economiste, the plant will be located in Casablanca-Settat region, and will supply water to Casablanca.

Desalination plant projects are also reportedly in the pipeline for Al Hoceima, Chtouka, El Jadida, Essaouira, Laayoune, Safi, Saidia, and Tiznit-Sidi; as well as Abengoa’s up to 450,000 cu/m per day project in Agadir.

Tax regime delays Chennai’s third desalination plant – India-Chennai

Floating of tender for Chennai’s third desalination plant has been delayed due to the Goods and Services Tax.

The tender for 150 MLD (million litres daily) desalination plant to be set up at Nemelli was scheduled to be floated on August 31. However, it was delayed due to GST, sources said.

Oman to build two mini desalination plants

Oman’s Public Authority for Electricity and Water (PAEW) has floated tenders for a pair of small water desalination plants (typically with a capacity of 1,000 to 10,000 cu m/day) to be implemented for the first time on a build-own-operate (BOO) basis.

USA Bureau of Reclamation Awards $3.62M for Desalination and Water Purification Research in 13 States

… Bureau of Reclamation Acting Commissioner Alan Mikkelsen announced today that Reclamation will provide $3.62 million to conduct laboratory and pilot-scale desalination and water purification research in 13 states.

Sixteen laboratory projects, four new pilot-scale projects and one continuing pilot-scale project were selected.
