Saudi NWC working on $1.3bln desal projects in Eastern Province – KSA

Unveiling the big infrastructure plan, NWC said the project scope includes construction of 40 water tanks with a total capacity of 1.6 million cu m in addition to pumping stations and laying of 493 km of strategic pipeline networks that will be gradually operated to serve beneficiaries in Dammam, Khobar, Jubail, Al Ahsa and Al Qatif with 24/7 supply.

ACWA Power increases its water capacity to 7.6 mil m3/day after winning Dubai’s Hassyan Seawater IWP Bid – KSA

Acwa Power has emerged as the preferred bidder for the construction and operation of the Hassyan Phase 1 Independent Water Producer (IWP) project. Being set up at with an investment of US $914mn, the plant will process 180 million imperial gallons per day (MIGD) of sea water, using ‘reverse osmosis’ technology.

ACWA Power Chosen as Preferred Bidder for Dubai Water Project – KSA

This project is the largest of its kind in the world for water production based on Sea Water Reverse Osmosis (SWRO) technology using solar energy. It is DEWA’s first Independent Water Producer (IWP) model project. The water desalination capacity in Dubai is currently 490 MIGD. This capacity will increase to 670 MIGD in 2026 with the completion of this project.

Bechtel Energy and Five Point Energy announced an agreement that will allow Five Point to utilize Bechtel’s proprietary Low Energy Ejector Desalination System (LEEDS) technology to provide produced water desalination services to customers across the Permian Basin. This is proprietary water desalination technology that has never been used before and will be piloted in the Permian Basin.
