Our strategy is closely aligned with the regional plan developed by Water Resources South East (WRSE), focused on securing water resources and distribution for a growing population across the South East region for the next 50 years.
Both plans provide a framework to meet increased water demand, achieved by reducing consumption and leakage, alongside significant investments in new infrastructure.
This comprehensive regional solution will secure the necessary water supply to protect the environment, enhance resilience, and support sustainable growth for the region.
Key actions include:
- Leak reduction initiatives and water efficiency measures
- New pipelines to improve water transfer between providers and within our supply area
- Development of a new reservoir at Broad Oak (Kent)
- Construction of a second reservoir at Arlington
- Implementation of a water recycling scheme at Peacehaven Wastewater Treatment Works
- Upgrades to water treatment facilities
- Installation of a desalination plant at Reculver (Kent)
