Deal signed to build giant desalination plant in the UAE – United Arab Emirates Emirates Water and Electricity Company (EWEC), on Wednesday said it has signed a water purchase agreement with Saudi-based ACWA Power. The deal will enable the development of over 900,000 cubic metres per day desalination facility in Taweelah, sufficient to meet the demand of water for over 350,000 households. DEWA breaks world record for re-engineering gas turbine overhaul – Dubai Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has broken the world record in major inspection outages by re-engineering the Gas Turbine SGT-4000F overhaul process at the Jebel Ali Power and Desalination Complex. Dubai’s M-Station extension project with capacity of 2.8GW and 140MIPD – Dubai The M-Station extension project in Jebel Ali, the largest power and water desalination plant in the UAE, has been inaugurated.
