Iraq to build water desalination system in Al-Muthanna Governorate – Iran

The project design is expected to have a capacity of 1,500 m3.

Qeshm Rural Desalination Project Gains Momentum – Iran

“With a capacity of 5,000 cubic meters per day, the facility will be completed in nine months by the private sector group Tana Energy,” the Energy Ministry’s news portal Pavenalso quoted Abdolhamid Hamzehpour as saying. 

The new plant, estimated to cost $10 million, is expected to supply 23,000 people in the rural district with tap water, he added.

Operations Underway to Expand Khuzestan Desalination Capacity – Iran

Operations are underway to build a desalination facility in the city of Hendijan in Khuzestan Province, the head of the provincial Water and Wastewater Company said.

“The new plant, estimated to cost $50 million, is expected to supply 70,000 people in rural districts with piped water,” Mohammad Reza Karaminejad was quoted as saying by ISNA. 

With a capacity of 25,000 cubic meters per day, the facility will be completed in 24 months by domestic engineers, he added.

The first phase of a desalination plant in Nimruz County, Sistan-Baluchestan Province, was launched on Monday to help supply drinking water to the urban and rural areas of the region from the third deep water well drilled in the province, managing director of the provincial Water and Wastewater Company said.

“The desalination plant has started operating with a capacity of 1,000 cubic meters per day,” Alireza Qasemi was also quoted as saying by IRNA.

75 water desalination plants operating across Iran – Tehran

Iran’s National Water and Wastewater Engineering Company is operating and constructing 95 water desalination plants with a total capacity of 634,000 cubic meters per day across the country, of which 75 plants are currently operational, according to an official with the company.

“Based on the government’s plan to develop the capacity of water desalination plants and to expand the use of these facilities, over the next four years, at least 400,000 cubic meters per day will be added to the capacity of the country’s water desalination plants,” Golrizan said.
