„These hostile attacks and debris resulting from interceptions caused some material damage at the facilities and civilian cars and houses.

There was no loss of life as of now,“ said the statement carried on state media.

QU academics author Gulf region’s first book on RO desalination – Qatar

Qatar University (QU) published the first book in the Gulf region on Reverse Osmosis (RO) desalination.

‚Reverse Osmosis Systems: Design, Optimisation and Troubleshooting Guide‘, is published by Elsevier, the largest science publisher.
Available online, the book is authored by Prof. Syed Javaid Zaidi, and co-authored with Haleema Saleem from the Center for Advanced Materials (CAM), QU.
Water security has been identified as one of the Grand Challenges of Qatar National Vision 2030.

Saudi Arabia prequalifies 19 companies for major PPP water pipeline – Saudi Arabia

The project will involve the financing, construction and operation of a water transmission pipeline from Ras Mohaisen – to Baha – to Mecca.
The water transmission pipeline will have a capacity of 300,000 cubic metres a day (cm/d) and a total length of 300km.

The IWTP project is likely to include a pumping station and a 300km pipeline to carry the water from the IWP to Baha and Mecca. The project is likely to cost upwards of US$270mn.

Saudi Arabia’s SWCC and NWC in partnership for 15 new water stations – Saudi Arabia

SWCC and theNWC have jointly signed an agreement to better design and implement 15 innovative production stations in less than nine months.

The projects will provide 76,000 cubic meters of desalinated water per day to the Kingdom’s Eastern region.

Kingdom Mulls Modernisation of Desalination Plants – Saudi Arabia

He said that Saudi Arabia is the largest producer of desalinated water in the world producing three million cubic metres daily.

“Desalinated water accounts for 55 to 60 per cent of water supplied for public consumption,” he said at a graduation ceremony held at the training center for the Saline Water Conversion Corporation, or SWCC, in Jubail.

Referring to the ministry’s efforts to reduce consumption of water and prevent leakages, he said that these efforts would help save about 600,000 cubic metres of water daily.

Acciona Completes The Construction Of Shuqaiq 3 Desalination Plant In Saudi Arabia -Saudi Arabia

ACCIONA has completed the construction of the SWPC’s Shuqaiq 3 Independent Water Project (IWP) Seawater Reverse Osmosis (SWRO) desalination in Saudi Arabia and it is working at full capacity.

The SWRO plant, of high-energy efficiency, is a key project in the modernization of the water sector that is currently being carried out by Saudi Water Partnership Company (SWPC) of Saudi Arabia.

ACCIONA is the Engineering, Procurement & Construction (EPC) contractor for Shuqaiq 3 IWP desalination plant, which will produce 450,000 cubic meters of potable water per day.
