Tampa Bay desalination plant obtains an extension of 5 years to span its operation for a total of 25 years – USA

ACCIONA was awarded in 2004 with a 20-year contract to redesign, build and operate the Tampa Bay Seawater Desalination Facility (TBWSWDF).  With this recent 5-year extension, ACCIONA and its partner U.S. Water will operate this flagship in desalination until 2029.

Hunter Water applies for permanent desalination plant – Australia

The New South Wales Department of Planning, Housing and Infrastructure has put the plant’s modification application on public display, seeking community and stakeholder feedback by 20 February 2024.

Building the Belmont Desalination Plant will add up to 30 million litres per day of rainfall-independent drinking water capacity to the system, or about 15 per cent of the region’s average daily needs.

City council approves moving forward Inner Harbor Water Desalination Plant

In 2020, the city was approved for a $222 million revenue bond from the Texas Water Development Board for the Inner Harbor facility. The council received the first installment of $11 million and are now asking the approval to receive the remaining $212 million.
