State drops water desalination project in Coast due to high cost – Bangladesh A plan to set up a large-scale water desalination plant in Indian Ocean has been shelved because it is costly. Coast Water Works Development Agency (CWWDA) said it had abandoned the project and was exploring other ways to address the perennial water crisis affecting the six counties. Saudi Arabia issues RFQ for key water pipeline project – Saudi Arabia SWPC has issued request for qualifications (RFQs) for the development of the 603-km-long Jubail-Buraidah Independent Water Transmission Pipelines Project with a transmission capacity of 650,000 cu m per day.
