Abengoa was present at the opening ceremony of the Rabigh desalination plant, the largest reverse osmosis desalination plant in commercial operation in the world, with 600,000 m3/day capacity.

SEWA awards Metito 20 MIGD SWRO plant restoration – Saudi Arabia

Metito’s scope of work covers the design, procurement, construction, site erection, inspection, testing, and commissioning of the project.

In the process, Metito will dismantle and replace the existing equipment and structure, renovate SEWA’s SWRO system, and implement additional membranes in eight skids.

Metito will also be upgrading the electrical system to accommodate new equipment and integrate a Distributed Control System (DCS).

East Pipes signs $132 million steel pipes contract with SWCC for water desalination – Saudi Arabia

East Pipes Integrated Company for Industry, a leading manufacturer of Helical Submerged Arc Welded (HSAW) pipes, has signed a project with the Saline Water Conversion Corporation (SWCC) amounting to SAR 497 million ($132.4 million) to supply and deliver steel pipes for Water Transmission System.

The project was awarded on 12 January 2022 for a duration of 12 months, and the financial impact of the deal will reflect in East Pipes‘ financials in 2022/2023.

ACWA Power closes deal to sell stake in Shuqaiq IWPP – Saudi Arabic

The International Company for Water and Power Projects (ACWA Power) has closed the SAR 391.5 million transaction to sell its entire stake of 32% in Shuqaiq Water and Electricity Company (Shuqaiq IWPP).

The transaction includes the sale of its partial stake of 32% in the operation and maintenance contract given by the wholly-owned subsidiary of ACWA Power, First National Operations and Maintenance Company (NOMAC), according to a bourse filing on Sunday.

Houthis launch attacks on Saudi energy, desalination facilities: coalition – Saudi Arabia

It said the attacks were aimed at a water desalination plant in Al-Shaqeeq, an Aramco distribution station in Jizan, a power station in Dhahran al Janub, a gas facility in Khamis Mushait and an Aramco liquefied natural gas plant in Yanbu.
„These hostile attacks and debris resulting from interceptions caused some material damage at the facilities and civilian cars and houses.
