Last Dec. 28, MCWD signed a 25-year desalinated bulk water supply contract with Pilipinas Water Resources Inc. (PWRI) and 8990 Housing Development Corp. Joint Venture (JV) for the delivery of water.

The P20.7 billion contract is expected to deliver 10,000 cubic meters (cbm) of water daily in the first year, and then 25,000 cbm per day for the remaining 24 years of the contract.

Aboitiz, Keppel units eye desalination project in Cebu – Philippines

AIC has submitted an unsolicited proposal to supply the Metro Cebu Water District (MWCD) with 30 million liters per day of desalinated bulk water. It intends to utilize Keppel Infrastructure’s expertise and technologies in building and operating a desalination plant in the province wherein raw saltwater will be treated using the reverse osmosis water treatment technology to produce safe drinking water.

MCWD to start construction of desalination plant in October – Marigondon, Lapu-Lapu, Philippines

“By the end of October, we will be signing (the contract) and the actual construction of the 30 MLD (millions of liter per day) desalination plant in Barangay Marigondon will start,” said MCWD chairman Jose Daluz III in a mix of Cebuano and English on Monday, September 19, 2022.

Remote village in Dinagat gets desalination equipment – Philippines

A solar-powered desalination equipment is now in use in a remote village in Dinagat town in the province of Dinagat Islands, the Department of Trade and Industry – Caraga (DTI-13) said Thursday.

In a statement, the DTI-13 said the desalination equipment will address the problem of safe and potable water in Barangay Cab-ilan, one of the areas hardest hit by Typhoon Odette in December last year.

Through the assistance of DTI-13, the desalination equipment was set up and launched on Wednesday in the village.

Filinvest provides free potable water to Typhoon Odette victims in Cebu – Philippines
