Acwa Power wins contract to develop Saudi water desalination plant – Saudi Arabia

Saudi Arabia’s utility developer Acwa Power won a contract to develop the Rabigh 3 independent water-desalination plant (IWP) located on the kingdom’s Red Sea coast.

The Riyadh-based company submitted the lowest price among five bidders and its consortium with Saudi Brothers Commercial Company was selected to develop the desalination plant, Acwa Power said in a statement on Tuesday.

Saudi to offer $9.6bln water projects in Q1 2019 – Saudi Arabia

Saudi Arabia intends to offer water and farming projects worth around 36 billion Saudi riyals ($9.6 billion) to investors in the first quarter of 2019, a newspaper in the world’s largest oil exporter reported on Sunday.

The Environment, Water and Agriculture Ministry will issue tenders for the projects as part of plans to expand desalinated water and farming production in the Gulf kingdom, the Arabic language daily Aleqtisadia said.

EXCLUSIVE: Low bidders emerge for two Saudi desalination projects – Saudi Arabia

State desalination provider Saline Water Conversion Corporation (SWCC) has received bids for two desalination projects in Saudi Arabia.

The client received four proposals for the two projects, Jubail 2 and Al-Khobar 2, on 9 December and 10 December, respectively, and opened the bids for each a day later.

For the 400,000 cubic metres-a-day Jubail 2 desalination project, a consortium of Acciona and RTCC submitted the lowest bid of $373m.

Sadara, Veolia partner on Industrial Waste to Energy Facility in Saudi Arabia

Sadara Chemical Company (Sadara), a Joint Venture developed by Saudi Aramco & The Dow Chemical Company and Veolia Middle East SAS (“Veolia”), have signed an agreement for the construction and operation of a sustainable industrial waste to energy facility in PlasChem Park in Saudi Arabia.

PlasChem Park is a collaborative effort between Sadara and the Royal Commission for Jubail and Yanbu (RCJY) in Jubail Industrial City II.

Saudi Arabia’s state-owned Water and Electricity Company (WEC) has announced the consortium led by ACWA Power as the preferred bidder for its Rabigh 3 Independent Water Project (IWP), located at Rabigh on the Red Sea coast.

Rabigh 3 IWP involves the development, financing, procurement, implementation, operation and maintenance of a 600,000 cubic metres (m3)/day reverse osmosis desalination plant expandable to 1,200,000 m3/day.

Saudi Arabia expected to award mega desalination project in Q4 – Rabigh – Saudi

Saudi Arabia’s state-owned Water and Electricity Company (WEC) is expected to sign the development agreement for its $150 million Rabigh 3 Independent Water Project (IWP), located at Rabigh on the Red Sea coast, in the fourth quarter of 2018, a source told Thomson Reuters Projects.

The project involves the development, financing, procurement, implementation, operation and maintenance of a 600,000 cubic metres (m3)/day reverse osmosis desalination plant expandable to 1,200,000 m3/day, according to an August 2017 press statement posted on WEC’s website.

Finnish group Pöyry secures Saudi water project deal – Shuqaiq – Saudi Arabia.

Pöyry, an international consulting and engineering company, said it has secured the owner’s engineer services contract from the Saline Water Conversion Corporation (SWCC) for the Shuqaiq Phase 3 Water Transmission System project in Saudi Arabia.

The scope of work includes review of contractor’s engineering services and supervision of construction, erection and commissioning, said a statement from Pöyry.

Khobar and Jubail to have desalination plants costing SR4 billion – Khobar – Saudi

Two desalination plants, costing a total of SR4 billion, will be established in the cities of Al-Khobar and Jubail in the Eastern Province.

This was announced by Minister of Environment, Water and Agriculture Abdurahman Al-Fadli, who is also chairman of the board of Saline Water Conversion Corporation (SWCC).
