Bids submitted for major Jubail desalination plant – KSA

The Saline Water Conversion Corporation (SWCC) has received bids from at least three groups for the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract to build the planned 1 million cubic metre a day (cm/d) Jubail 2 desalination plant. For the 600,000 cm/d Shuaiba 5 desalination plant, SWCC awarded a contract to the local Rawafid and Advanced Water Technology (AWT) to build the 600,000 cm/d Shuaiba 5 desalination plant.

Almar Water Solutions expands in Asia-Pacific region through partnership with Moya – Indonesia

Obor Infrastructure, a holding enterprise established in Singapore, owns two water companies, each operating a water treatment plant on the Indonesian island of Java, with a total capacity of 425,000 m3/day, and plans to increase the capacity by an additional 160,000 m3/day in the short to medium term. They supply drinking water to several districts in Greater Jakarta, the second-largest urban area on the planet.

US$200mn Los Cabos desalination plant remains stuck in limbo – US

The 250l/s reverse osmosis plant went to a consortium comprising La Peninsular Compañía Constructora and Acciona Agua, which has a 25-year concession to design, build and operate it. Another contract for the integral improvement of the distribution system went to a consortium comprising FCC Aqualia and Aqualia México for 1.3bn pesos, which now holds a 10-year concession to improve, operate and maintain the system.
