The British company Solar Water will install a solar water desalination plant -Tunisia

On this occasion, the company’s managers presented the technical studies for the project to implement a solar water desalination plant in southern Tunisia. This plant will have a production capacity of 200 million liters of water per day using solar energy and state-of-the-art technologies that meet current international standards.

For an envelope of 600 million dollars, this is the first project of its kind in Africa.

Carlsbad Desalination Plant Hits Milestone: 100 Billion Gallons Served – San Diago, California, USA

he Claude “Bud” Lewis Carlsbad Desalination Plant has served more than 100 billion gallons of water over the past seven years — a milestone reached in late October, the San Diego County Water Authority and plant owners announced Tuesday.

The plant, which produces 50 million gallons of drinking water daily, enough for 400,000 homes meeting 10% of San Diego County’s water demand, is the largest in the United States.

MOL and EnviroNor sign MoU to collaborate on floating desalination vessel – Norway

Floating Desalination Vessel is a floating infrastructure vessel equipped with seawater desalination equipment using reverse osmosis (RO) membranes, which removes impurities other than water, to produce fresh water (drinking water) and supply it to shore.

Compared to a seawater desalination plant on land, FDVs do not require the acquisition of land and is built by converting a used ship, so it offers advantages such as the ability to start water supply in a short time.

UAE inspires GCC nuclear future – United Arab Emirates

The United Arab Emirates is making progress on the construction of the first nuclear power plant in the GCC region.

In July, the Emirates Nuclear Energy Corporation (ENEC) announced that the first nuclear reactor would come online to start generating electric power in late 2019 or early 2020.

Construction of the UAE’s second nuclear power reactor is nearing completion with pre-operational testing well underway. Pre-operational testing process incorporates all lessons learned from the same test on Unit 1.
