Egypt’s Orascom Construction (OC) company sees a strong pipeline of projects in 2021 covering the country’s metro, railways, new roads and highways, water, and infrastructure. 

This also includes Operations and Management (O&M) contracts in renewables, water desalination, water treatment, wastewater treatment, power, and facilities management 

The company stressed its expertise in securing financing on behalf of the client for large scale projects, such as Egypt’s new Monorail network and water treatment plants .

Najjar and Egyptian envoy discuss ways to enhance water cooperation – Egypt

Minister of Water and Irrigation, Mohammad Najjar, discussed with the Egyptian Ambassador to Jordan, Sherif Kamal, on Wednesday, ways to strengthen aspects of water cooperation.

Egypt finalises 689 housing projects with $4.6bln investment in last two FYs – Egypt

Minister of Planning and Economic Development Hala El-Said said that 689 projects have been completed in the housing sector across Egypt.

This has come at a total investment cost estimated at EGP 72.6bn, of which 310 projects during fiscal year (FY) 2019/20 cost EGP 24.3bn.

It comes as part of the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development’s report on the housing sector during fiscal years (FYs) 2018/19 and 2019/20.

Schneider Electric connects New Alamein desalination plant – Egypt

Schneider Electric is completing the works at the seawater desalination plant in New Alamein, a new town in north-west Egypt, which will be inaugurated by the government in 2018.

In this seawater desalination plant, the French industrial group has installed its EcoStruxure technology.

This solution is an open, interoperable, ready-to-use platform, compatible with IoT (Internet of Things), enabling the automation of the electrical network of the New Alamein desalination plant.

Egypt to partner with private sector in building four water desalination plants – Egypt

Egypt will announce four new seawater desalination plants in partnership with the private sector in January 2021, the Minister of Finance, Mohamed Maait, said.

A desalination plant will be established in Matrouh’s Hamam City with a capacity of 190,000 cubic metres per day and three other plants will be built in Safaga, El-Quseir, and Marsa Alam with capacities ranging between 20,000 and 40,000 cubic metres per day, Maait added in a statement on Thursday.
