Die aus den Versuchsreihen abgeleiteten Antwortflächen beschreiben das Verhalten der Membran bezüglich einzelner Salze bzw. Ionen über den gesamten pH- und Temperatur-Bereich. So zeigt sich zum Beispiel für Nitrat eine deutliche pH-Abhängigkeit des Rückhalts mit einem Maximum bei pH 7-8 und bei einer nur geringfügigen Temperaturabhängigkeit. Ganz anders sind die Ergebnisse zum Beispiel beim Bor, wo neben einer pH- auch eine deutliche Temperaturabhängigkeit des Rückhalts festzustellen war.

Ras Abu Fontas (RAF) A3 desalination plant expansion has been opened in Qatar.

DOHA, Qatar – The Ras Abu Fontas (RAF) A3 desalination plant expansion has been opened in Qatar and marks the start of the country’s journey to membrane-based potable water production.

Costing QR1.75 billion (US$480.6m), the expansion will enable the production of an additional 164,000 m3/day.

RAF A3 represents Qatar’s first desalination project using seawater reverse osmosis membranes and was awarded to Japanese firm Mitsubishi Corporation in 2015.

Kenya to issue RFP for first desalination project (130 Mio m³/d)

Five shortlisted companies will be issued with RFPs in May for the project to be built in the coastal county of Mombasa.

The county is tendering two desalination projects on a build, operate, transfer (BOT) basis. They are a plant of 130,000 m3/d in the north, and one of 30,000 m3/d in the south.

Ein Problem ist allerdings, dass nur wenige Speziallabore in Deutschland die umfassenden Untersuchungen auf Radioaktivität durchführen können. Die Folge: In diesen Laboren herrscht mindestens bis 2019 Hochbetrieb, da bis dahin aus allen 15000 Trinkwasserbrunnen im ganzen Bundesgebiet regelmäßig Proben genommen werden müssen.

Die Radioaktivität des Grundwassers wird in Becquerel pro Liter gemessen.

Israel Chemicals (ICL) to sell stake in desalination IDE

Israel Chemicals has agreed to sell its 50 percent stake in water desalination firm IDE Technologies for about $180 million, a leading Israeli financial news website reported on Tuesday.

Israel Chemicals (ICL), a top global supplier of potash, and IDE both declined to comment.

IDE, which has built major desalination plants in the United States, Israel, India and China, is jointly owned by ICL and Israeli conglomerate Delek Group.
