2016 Operating Results :
Net income attributable to Consolidated Water Co. Ltd. stockholders for 2016 was $3,960,501, ($0.27 per share on a fully-diluted basis), as compared to $7,518,701 ($0.51 per share on a fully-diluted basis) for 2015.

Total revenues for 2016 and 2015 were $57,875,707 and $57,116,202, respectively. Higher revenues for the retail and services segments in 2016 served to offset a decrease in the bulk segment revenues.

Algae bloom in Arabian Sea – Gulf of Oman turns green

Scientists who study the algae say the microscopic organisms are thriving in new conditions brought about by climate change, and displacing the zooplankton that underpin the local food chain, threatening the entire marine ecosystem.

Suez & CDPQ bought GE Water from General Electric (3.2 billion euros)

French waste and water group Suez has boosted its industrial water treatment business with the 3.2 billion euros (2.78 billion pounds) acquisition of GE Water from General Electric.

Chief Executive Jean-Louis Chaussade told reporters on Wednesday the industrial water market was more important than Suez’s traditional municipal water market, because industry accounts for 15-20 percent of global water consumption compared with just 5-8 percent for human consumption in cities (LINK).
