The advanced model will also optimise energy production of the gas turbines at the Jebel Ali Power Plant and Water Desalination Complex, the largest single-site natural gas power generation facility in the world at a capacity of 9,547 MW.
âThe innovative model for fog monitoring and forecasting will enhance energy productions operations. It will be integrated within Dewaâs power planning and operations. This supports the Dubai Clean Energy Strategy 2050 and the Dubai Net Zero Carbon Emissions Strategy 2050 to provide 100 per cent of Dubaiâs total power production capacity from clean energy sources by [âŠ]
Dubai: Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has marked another breakthrough by achieving the Guinness World Records title for the second time for owning and managing the Largest Single-Site Water Desalination Facility in the World with production capacity of 490 million Imperial Gallons of water per Day, which is equivalent to 2,227,587 Cubic Metres per Day.
This is the second world record for Jebel Ali Power Generation and Water Production Complex. In 2021, the Complex was confirmed by Guinness World Records as the Largest Single-site Natural Gas Power Generation Facility in the World. The Complex [âŠ]
As per the agreement, a pilot water desalination plant has been installed at the Jebel Ali Power Plant and Desalination Complex, with a production capacity of minimum 1,000 litres of potable water per day. The collaboration is part of DEWAâs participation in the Dubai Future Accelerators (DFA) programme, one of the initiatives under Dubai Future Foundation. DFA is the largest accelerator programme in the world.
The Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (Dewa) has signed a partnership agreement with Dutch start-up Desolenator to build a carbon-neutral water purification and desalination system that is completely powered by solar energy.
The utility has set a goal to ensure that 100 per cent of Dubaiâs production of desalinated water comes from a mixture of clean energy â which combines renewable energy sources and waste heat â by 2030.
The innovative design is intended to be 100% reliant on solar energy at a target Levelized Cost of potable water production to be less than US$0.02 per litre.

Dubai Electricity and Water Authority announced today that it plans to construct three new reservoirs to increase the emirateâs water security.
The reservoirs will cost around $150 million and store desalinated water, the official Emirates News Agency reported.
Water desalination is the process by which salt is removed from ocean water to create fresh water that can be treated further and be safely used for drinking.
