Swansea Water District approves solar agreement – Australia

Swansea Water District Superintendent Jeffrey Sutherland said the $60,000 is about 20 percent of the water district’s electricity costs which is “substantial.”

The Board of Water Commissioners voted last week to approve of a solar agreement that will save the district $60,000 a year in electricity costs.

Tedagua, Orascom and Metito to build the Sfax desalination plant – Tunisia

The consortium recently signed a contract worth 200 million euros with Sonede, represented by its boss Mosbah Helali. It was also in the presence of Mohamed Fadhel Kraiem, the acting Tunisian Minister for Agriculture, Hydraulic Resources and Fisheries, as well as Shimizu Shinsuke, the Japanese ambassador to Tunisia.

Acciona wins contract to build Africa’s largest desalination plant in Casablanca – Africa

Saudi’s ACWA Power, Tunisia ink deal to develop key green hydrogen project – KSA

The ambitious project aims to produce up to 600,000 tonnes per year of green hydrogen across three phases for export to Europe.

ACWA Power, the world’s largest private water desalination company and a pioneer in the space of green hydrogen, will develop, operate, and maintain 12GW of renewable energy electricity generation units, storage systems, transmission lines, a water desalination plant, electrolysers, and related infrastructure.

Vélez-Málaga gears up for desalination plant construction – Spain

Lupiáñez emphasised that this infrastructure will enhance water conditions in the local and surrounding areas by rendering well water suitable for irrigation. Collaborating with the Málaga Provincial Council and the Andalucian Regional Government, Vélez-Málaga strives to enhance water quality in the middle of a drought. A €15 million investment partnership between these institutions is set to expedite the installation of the desalination plant in wells.

NEOM: $1.5bn planned desalination plant cancelled – KSA

A consortium of Neom subsidiary Enowa, Japan’s Itochu and France’s Veolia signed a JDA for the scheme in December 2022, approximately six months after they signed a memorandum of understanding to develop the renewable-energy powered advanced seawater reverse osmosis project in Oxagon, Neom’s industrial cluster.
