Texas water board OKs up to $1.8 billion of revenue bonds – US

The Texas Water Development Board approved an up to $1.8 billion State Water Implementation Revenue Fund for Texas (SWIRFT) bond issue on Tuesday, along with nearly $3 billion in requests to use the fund to finance local water projects, including seawater desalination in Corpus Christie and a reservoir and pump station expansion in Brazoria County that will largely benefit a private company.

Desalination plant launch to bring water relief to 20,000 households – Cebu, Phillipines

MCWD and PWRI held an inauguration ceremony on July 31, marking the start of the desalination plant’s operation that is set on August 1, 2024, Daluz said.

The facility converts brackish waters from the sea into fresh and potable water for the MCWD consumer.

The plant has an overall capacity of 25 MLD of water to supply to MCWD. (EHP)

Bids submitted for major Jubail desalination plant – KSA

The Saline Water Conversion Corporation (SWCC) has received bids from at least three groups for the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract to build the planned 1 million cubic metre a day (cm/d) Jubail 2 desalination plant. For the 600,000 cm/d Shuaiba 5 desalination plant, SWCC awarded a contract to the local Rawafid and Advanced Water Technology (AWT) to build the 600,000 cm/d Shuaiba 5 desalination plant.

Almar Water Solutions expands in Asia-Pacific region through partnership with Moya – Indonesia

Obor Infrastructure, a holding enterprise established in Singapore, owns two water companies, each operating a water treatment plant on the Indonesian island of Java, with a total capacity of 425,000 m3/day, and plans to increase the capacity by an additional 160,000 m3/day in the short to medium term. They supply drinking water to several districts in Greater Jakarta, the second-largest urban area on the planet.
