The results of this research are outlined in a scientific work entitled „GO-FILTER: Sea Water Desalination Based on Graphene Oxide as a Water Treatment Innovation in Jakarta“. “Currently, increasing water pollution in Jakarta is starting to trigger a water crisis. In some areas, groundwater can no longer be an alternative water source due to land subsidence and sea water intrusion in Jakarta. Utilizing seawater as Jakarta’s water source using the desalination method has emerged as an alternative solution. „However, this method requires quite large costs and the reverse osmosis process and multistage distillation method leads to an increase in greenhouse gases,“ said Dr. Nyoman Suwartha who is also the FTUI Education Manager.
