ACWA Power announced the commencement of operations for the first phase of Al Taweelah Independent Water Plant (IWP) with the production of 454.6 thousand cubic metres of desalinated water per day, reaching 50 percent capacity of the plant.

PM hails cooperation with Saudi ACWA Power in water desalination – Egypt

Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli hailed existing cooperation with the Saudi ACWA Power in water desalination domains.

Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly visited the new city of Al-Alamein in an inspection tour to follow up on the development work being carried out there, especially in terms of utilities.

During the tour, Madbouly listened to Minister of Housing Assem Al-Jazzar review the volume of investments in the new city and explain that these investments are divided into three main sectors.

NEOM to build renewable-powered desalination plant – Saudi Arabia

Saudi Arabia’s futuristic planned city NEOM plans to build a water desalination plant powered by renewable energy.

NEOM signed a MOU yesterday with the Japanese trading company Itochu and the French energy company Veolia to build a desalination facility powered completely from renewable energy.

ACCIONA starts operation and maintenance of Shuqaiq 3 desalination plant in Saudi Arabia

ACCIONA has started the operation and maintenance of SWPC Shuqaiq 3 desalination plant, one of the largest in Saudi Arabia serving two million people.

The O&M contract has been awarded for 25 years. The IWP uses SWRO technology, which is more energy efficient than conventional thermal desalination.

Shuqaiq 3 is a key project in the modernization of the water sector that is being carried out by the SWPC.
