acyr through its affiliates Sacyr Sadyt and Sacyr Agua has started operations at the seawater desalination plant in Sohar, on the Al Batinah coast. With an investment of nearly EUR 200 million, the revenue backlog estimated for 20 years of operation totals EUR 1 billion.

The reverse-osmosis desalination plant is the second-largest in the country and has the capacity to produce 250,000 m3 of water per day, supplying around 220,000 people.

Gulf Consortium Signs Solar PV Power Project Agreements in Oman – Oman

Repair work on Barka 2 power and water desalination plant reaches completion – Oman

Repairs on gas turbine three (GT-3) of Oman’s Barka Two power and water desalisanation plant have finished ahead of schedule, nearly three weeks after an inspection initially revealed damage.

6 power and water firms to launch IPOs in next 2 years

As many as six power generation and water desalination companies will be launching their initial public offerings (IPOs) for listing on the Muscat Securities Market (MSM) within next two years, according to Oman Power and Water Procurement Company (OPWP).

As per their project founders agreements, Oman’s independent water projects (IWPs) and independent power projects (IPPs) are required to offer a minimum 35 per cent of their share capital to the public through the IPOs within four years of the incorporation of the company.

Aquatech Partners with OXY on One of the Largest Produced Water Treatment Systems in the World

Occidental Petroleum Corporation’s (OXY) Enhanced Oil Recovery Field is located in the south-central area of the Sultanate of Oman, approximately 660 kilometers from Muscat and 560 kilometers from Salalah.

This oilfield was producing approximately 10,000 barrels of oil per day. A project was estalished to increase production to 150,000 barrels per day, to include the addition of a large scale steam flood facility for the recovery of approximately two billion barrels of oil over the life of the project.

Mubadrah to manage Rusayl Industrial City in Oman – Oman

The Public Establishment for Industrial Estates (Madayn) has signed an agreement with Oman Investment and Development Holding Company (Mubadrah) for the latter to manage and develop Rusayl Industrial City.  

The agreement was signed by Ahmed bin Hassan Al Dheeb, chairman of Madayn’s board of directors, and Hilal bin Hamad Al Hasani, chairman of Mubadrah’s board of directors.
