ACCIONA, together with its partner SEPCOIII, has announced that it will undertake the construction of the Jubail 3B desalination plant, which has a capacity of 570,000m3/day and will supply two million people in the cities of Riyadh and Qassim.

In a statement, ACCIONA said that SEPCOII and itself are the main EPC contractors for the project, which is being developed and financed by a consortium consisting of ENGIE, NESMA and AJLAN, for the publicly owned Saudi Water Partnership Company (SWPC).

It added that SWPC had announced the financial closure of the project, which is estimated at $692 million.
