At least 1,000 people are currently benefiting from a desalination system that has just been installed in the coastal city of Cape Coast, Central Province, Ghana.

This is the result of a pilot project implemented by Grino Water Solutions, a start-up based in Nuremberg, Germany.

The system consists of an 8m3 per day borehole that pumps salt water. It is powered by a photovoltaic solar system consisting of 24 panels.
