Federal Electricity and Water Authority (Fewa) authorities said work is nearing completion on a new water desalination station at Umm Al Quwain, which boasts a capacity of 50 million gallons per day. 

The project’s full capacity upon the completion of all its phases will amount to 150 million gallons per day.

It is set to start production by the end of 2021, stated Mohammad Mohammad Saleh, the Director-General of the Fewa, during his visit today to the site, which will be the largest of its kind in the country operating on reverse osmosis technology.
