Private land between Fishery Bay and Sleaford Bay has been chosen as the site for a 5.3-gigalitre desalination plant that will supply water to Eyre Peninsula, South Australia.
SA Water first identified three sites in the Sleaford Bay area for a desalination plant for Eyre Peninsula in 2009.
“The new site at Sleaford West will now be considered by the minister and SA Water, who will ultimately make the final decision on the location of the plant within the next few months.”
