The Director General of the Federal Electricity and Water Authority (FEWA) Mohammed Mohammed Saleh, unveiled the implementation of a project to establish a new desalination plant in UAQ, with a production capacity of 45m gallons per day, at a cost of Dhs900m. According to Saleh, the project is expected to take two years to be implemented, in partnership with the independent producer. Saleh added that the implementation of the project is part of the strategic plans of the FEWA which is keen to provide services at distinct levels contributing to the development of infrastructure of facilities to meet the growing needs in various areas of UAQ. He also pointed out that FEWA implemented a number of developmental projects in the water sector in Ajman and UAQ during 2017 and has completed the necessary studies to implement a number of new projects which are expected to be completed over the next two years.
